Dear Ryan Dailey: Thanks for your very kind words about my work. I'm delighted that SATURN has interested you so much, and I hope you read the other books in my "Grand Tour" series. I think helium-3 could be a valuable export for a lunar community, especially since they will undoubtedly be digging up regolith materials for other resources. Why not process the He-3 while you're at it?

Hey, Ryan...one of the fun parts of a story is the learning process --essentially the 'rules' of understanding the monster, and of the monster discovering its own powers. The novel, Dracula and 'Salem's Lot both deal with the process of understanding the nature of the threat, and there is attrition because that knowledge is often won at a cost. Alien, World War Z, Shaun of the Dead, and many other movies follow the process of trial and error that reveals the full nature of the beast, and --ideally-- how to fight it. It's actually a key element in a lot of horror and science fiction stories.
